The Calabash Fire Department is committed to communicating with the public. You are invited and allowed to attend and participate in our board meetings, located at the main station of our Department (892 Persimmon Road).

Board Meeting Schedule

Because our neighbors, friends, and family members contribute to the operations of this Department through taxpayer contributions, the Board of Directors and our Department’s management are committed to being as transparent as possible with you all. Our Department allows the public to attend and participate in the following meetings, located at the main station of this fire department (892 Persimmon Road). 

Annual Meeting

We host an Annual Meeting that allows the Board of Directors and CFD management to interact with the public we serve and to obtain their input. The below agenda is normally followed, but the CFD is not limited to the following agenda: 

  1. Call the Meeting to Order;
  2. Roll call by the Secretary of the Board;
  3. Approval of the minutes of the last annual meeting;
  4. Approval of the Treasurer’s Report;
  5. Fire Chief’s Report to the Board;
  6. Appointments/Elections of Board Members, if applicable;
  7. Election of Board Officers, if applicable;
  8. Old Business;
  9. New Business;
  10. Public Comment Time;
  11. Adjournment.

Next Scheduled Meeting

This meeting will be held on the second Monday in November at the main station of the fire department and the meeting will start at 7:00pm

Monthly Board Meetings

We also hold monthly board meetings. The following agenda is an example of what we cover each month, and what we would be happy to share with you if you attend. 

  1. Call the Meeting to Order;
  2. Roll call by the Secretary of the Board;
  3. Approval of the minutes of the last annual meeting;
  4. Approval of the Treasurer’s Report;
  5. Fire Chief’s Report to the Board;
  6. Appointments/Elections of Board Members, if applicable;
  7. Election of Board Officers, if applicable;
  8. Old Business;
  9. New Business;
  10. Public Comment Time;
  11. Adjournment.

Next Scheduled Meeting

These meetings will be held on the third Tuesday of each month, at the main station of the fire department and the meeting will start at 6:00 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend our monthly board meetings unless our Board goes into closed session.
